Freshly installed ghost hubs
I run into the same problem, over and over again:
After installing a new hub (manual install from the git repo, according to help's admin guide), communication from that hub is not - or not reliably - being delivered to other hubs. I can post, I can comment, I can send out connection requests - I see all of that locally on my hub. But others (including my own channels from my other hubs) cannot not see it, it does not seem to arrive in the target channel (the delivery report is empty). It is just like being Sam from "Ghost" - Nobody reacts to me, because they do not see me. Occasionally, one post would come through, making me think that I now finally made it, my hub being "accepted" by the network - just to find out that the next messages are kept on my hub again...
I tried out Hubzilla for the first time, several years ago, with another provider, on a VPS. Then with a webhost (same provider). Now with netcup on a webhost. It is almost reliably the same: I'd install HZ, create a channel, reach out, get no reaction (great when you are getting started here, back then...). I thought I might have made a misconfiguration somewhere during install. So deleted the hub, re-install it in the same place, created the same channels again (admin channel, and seperate others). I also switched installations a while ago between HZ, Misty, and Zap. I might have "used up" my regular channels on these domains as re-creating a channel after a re-install might render it a Zombie (a resurrected channel that has commited eternal Zot-suicide).
I do not remember how I finally got this hub/channel accepted by the network (well, kind of: It still has problems until today - see other support thread). Whereas other less active channels of the same hub do not seem to have the same problems. If the channel is not a Zombie, it might be that the linked clone is a Zombie - I do not know how to find out.
So I decided a few weeks ago to register a new, "unburned" domain, install HZ only once (no matter what) on a subdomain, and then start a new idenity with my trademark name, but without any links to old clones. And I exported all IDs first.
Well... You see my typing from my "old" idenitity - Because the new identity witcraft@hubzilla.fediversum.de
is just another ghost.
So what am I missing?
