@Hubzilla Support Forum I am new with Hubzilla and permissions seems to be an important subject which I I have not yet fully understood. One thing I don't understand: Why does someone join the Fediverse and sets the permissions to "Accepts: nothing"? Where is the point of this?

One thing to understand with Hubzilla is that it is a quite universal tool. You can use it for socializing, collaboration, and even self-organization. Essentially, it is like an OS for web-based items. You can use it for social, collaboration, or organization purposes, including but not limited to the Fediverse. You can even use it as a unfederated local island system.

Hubzilla (and Zap) accounts cab have several identities ("channels") for different purposes: I have one for the Fediverse, one for friends and family, one for my own web bookmarks. The latter one is just not used for socializing. I could use something else for it, I guess - but then: why...?

Also, meine #Hubzilla Instanz scheint nun einigermassen zu laufen, damit bin ich #neuhier – im Fediverse bin ich schon seit 6 Jahren unterwegs, meistens mit eigenen Instanzen. Mal schauen, wer da noch unterwegs ist.

Wann und wo hast du zuerst von Hubzilla gehört, gelesen?
Was ist der Grund, dass du dir eine Hubzilla-Identität zugelegt hast?
Wieviel Zeit hast du in Hubzilla-Installation investiert? Bitte bei dieser Schätzung auch die Zeit für das Recherchieren und Lesen von Anleitungen berücksichtigen.
Nicht irrelevant dabei ist, wie du dein Linux-know how einschätzt: Anwender/ fortgeschrittener Anwender/ Administrator, Experte, ...?

Die Antworten auf diese Fragen können vlt. potenziellen Hubzilla-Teilnehmern das Eintauchen in Fediverse erleichtern.

Sorry: Mir wurde der Post von fediversum.de hier auf witcraft.de überhaupt gar nicht erst angezeigt - Daher hatte ich den falschen Kontext (Das hat ja schon mit dem neuen Hub/Channel zu tun). Mir gehen langsam die Ideen aus, woran es noch liegen kann. Früher habe ich dann einfach neu installiert - Inzwischen weiß ich, dass man sich damit die Identität zerschießen kann und lasse das lieber...

I suggest that you document this solution in the form of an Hubzilla article or a web page on your hub and use appropriate hashtags, e.g. #HubzillaHelp #HubzillaLang #LanguageSettingsHbz, #HubzillaFAQ, #HubzillaFirstSteps etc., to ensure that the solution can be found. Then others will also benefit from it ;-).

Hi @Hiker,

Hubzilla looks for the language of your browser. So if it is set to English Hubzulla allways will appear in English. And I think it's also the fallback if it can't handle the information.

Yes, as described above: The German language file is set to language "de-de" but the browser was set to "de" and so the display was English as fallback.

I think Hubzilla takes the language settings (for German) very seriously - setting to "de" should be enough IMHO. Or do we really want also "de-ch" and "de-at"? With other languages the settings there is only the first part (fr, es, it, en).
